The Vatican became an independent state in 1929 by the Lateran Treaty, but the holy city might not be much of an independent state anymore. A Chinese dissident confessed this weekend that the Vatican accepts money from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) every year in the form of bribes. Now in exile, political dissident Guo Wengui alleges that the CCP “allocates $2 billion a year” to keep the Vatican silent on atrocities committed by Chinese officials. Wengui, a billionaire Chinese insider, also said the CCP bribes both Italy and Australia to keep quiet on CCP abuses.
The Vatican is the only remaining monarchy in Europe; its general politics and governance are undertaken by the head of the Catholic Church, the Pope. Even though the Pope must delegate many of his powers, he still exercises ex officio supreme legislative, executive and judicial power over the state of the Vatican City. The Vatican expands its wealth through printing services, Vatican museums, post office services, and the city even issues its own coins delegated by its own fleet of financial institutions. Could the Vatican also be funding its monarchy by taking bribes from the CCP? Has the Vatican entered into an unholy alliance with communists?
Wengui warned that the CCP uses the bribes to gain influence over the Vatican’s internal policy making. The bribes also keep the Catholic Church in line with the goals of the CCP, which include curbing religious freedom. Wengui detailed China’s plans for world domination, which include controlling the internet, buying influence with money, and seducing world influencers with sex. This three-prong system of political corruption is used to infiltrate trade with other countries and undermine the integrity of these nations.
Wengui said that the CCP uses a set percentage of trade with each country to implement this system of manipulation and control. The CCP allegedly uses five percent of their trade with the US to advance their manipulation. The trade volume between the U.S. and China was $7.37 trillion in 2018. Five percent of that trade total is approximately $36.8 billion. The CCP is allegedly using $36.8 billion to manipulate US officials, control the internet, manipulate media messaging, incite riots, control regional trade and resources, bribe U.S. politicians and businessmen to comply with communism and to keep mum on China’s abuses. Countries are being manipulated by China on a grand scale, as the poison of communism slowly seeps in.
Pope Francis has been adamant in trying to establish diplomatic relations with Beijing. Veteran Vatican journalist John L. Allen, Jr. attests to this. The Vatican is “covetous of a relationship with China, and often apparently willing to stifle objections and give away a great deal” in order to move toward that goal, Allen wrote last month.
“The Vatican is moving full-steam ahead in its courtship of Beijing, with the ultimate prize remaining full diplomatic relations, a secure legal standing for the church, and partnerships on the global stage,” Allen wrote.
In 2018, Francis signed a secret accord with Beijing, allowing the Catholic Church to appoint bishops in China. In 2020, the Vatican launched and endorsed a new Chinese journal, Civiltà Cattolica, distributed in Vatican City. Vatican analysts suggest that Pope Francis is willing to establish diplomatic relations with Beijing, but he is making “concessions” along the way.
These concessions are starting to show, as Vatican officials begin praising the CCP. The chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, the Argentinian Bishop Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo, praised communist China for being the “best model for living out Catholic social teaching today.” The Pope refuses to criticize the CCP when they talk about rewriting the Bible and re-translating sacred texts to make them promote socialist ideology. It’s all part of China’s manipulation, to submit the world to their communism disguised as altruism, and the Vatican is falling prey.
