Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich appeared on “Fox News Live” on Wednesday, calling the new indictments of former President Donald Trump in Georgia an “absurdity” and a desperate attempt to demolish President Joe Biden’s top political rival in the 2024 presidential elections.
In an eighty-second statement, Gingrich began talking about the grotesque double standards of justice as Trump is prosecuted over and over again while Democrats, who have engaged in far worse crimes, are enjoying impunity and dodging accountability.

According to him, Biden is kind of a “parody of the pattern of lawlessness and impunity and corruption seen in recent years.” The former speaker of Congress slammed Hillary Clinton and ex-president Barack Obama for “teaching” Biden about how to “enrich oneself in office and how to get away with lawbreaking with no prosecution.”
He also pointed out that Trump, being an outsider, can take on the entire system as something that could destroy their entire machinery. For him, this is the “desperate last-ditch effort by a corrupt machine to destroy their most dangerous opponent,” regardless of if they destroy the rule of law and the Constitution. They created “a legacy of bitterness which I think will last for a generation or more,” he further lamented, warning all the viewers that it is going to be a horrendous period.
“And we just need to understand: The people who want to control America and want to dictate to America break any law, lie about any topic, and manipulate the system any way they can, and that includes a lot of the elite news media,” he further stated.
The ex-POTUS has been charged with the following: violating the Georgia Racketeer Influenced And Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act; Solicitation of Violation of Oath by a Public Officer; Conspiracy to Commit Impersonating a Public Officer; Conspiracy to Commit Forgery in the First Degree; Conspiracy to Commit False Statements and Writings; Conspiracy to Commit Filing False Documents; Conspiracy to Commit Forgery in the First Degree; Filing False Documents; and Solicitation of Violation of Oath by a Public Officer.
In a separate interview with “Fox and Friends,” Gingrich predicted that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ decision will just secure the Republican nomination for Trump. The former Georgia congressman argued Democrats have disputed election results for years with no criminal charges being brought forth.
“I think in the end, this is going to nominate Trump by a landslide and the nomination will be over by February 1st. If the election next year is between those who defend the Constitution and the rule of law and a corrupt family living out the Clinton, Obama, and Biden, corruption of the American system, I have a hunch that the American people repudiate the corruption,” he said.
Moreover, Trump has now been indicted four times this year, but he still leads in the polls for the Republican nomination for president.
Meanwhile, on the “Charlie Kirk Show,” Gingrich shared a remarkable story that someone from D.C. called Willis and demanded her to indict Trump to cover up for the U.S. Attorney for Delaware David Weiss’ “screw up.” Trump questioned the decision to elevate Weiss to special counsel in the Hunter Biden investigation claiming that the federal prosecutor “would not have been picked by me.”
Meanwhile, according to the “rumor,” the call happened on Friday evening so the indictment should happen on Monday. Could this be the reason why there was a ready list of charges briefly posted on the Fulton County website even before the grand jury came back with the indictments? (Related: RIGGED: Trump’s charges appeared briefly on the Fulton County website way before grand jury officially announced the indictment.)
Willis was quoted to have said to someone from Washington that her “jurors aren’t coming back until Tuesday.” The caller allegedly answered: “You didn’t hear me. You have to indict on Monday.” And she said, “They’re not going to get here until noon. This means it is going to be eight or nine or ten o’clock at night.” The one on the other line said, “It doesn’t matter, we need the news to shift off of Weiss.”
“So, who made that phone call?” Kirk asked Gingrich, who answered: “We don’t know. I’m telling you upfront, this is hearsay, but it is from a person who has remarkably good sources.”
